Nepal is on the 220V system, and only received round-the-clock electricity in 1984. Power surges and blackouts aren’t uncommon. Sockets are usually the three-pin variety, but they can vary. If you’re planning to use a hairdryer or electric shaver, bring a converter and a selection of plug adapters from your own country because it may be impossible to find in Nepal, tough we have good electrical stores in New Road in Kathmandu. Some of the big hotels do provide hairdryer. There wont be electricity while camping. |
