| When to go |
The best time for rafting in Nepal is September to early December and March to May. The winter months from late December to early February are cold, but skies are still clear and water level will be low. Lots of river running groups come out over Christmas and have a great time, but you certainly should expect cold water and perhaps think in terms of wet suits and dry tops. June is the beginning of monsoon, which brings torrential rains that flood the rivers and is not the best time of the year for rafting. |

| River Grades |
Rivers are graded on a scale of one to six, with one being a swimming pool and six a one-way ticket to your maker. Four is considered to be quite challenging without being exceedingly dangerous to the novice rafter. Five requires some previous river experience. |

| Typical day on a river trip |
Start the day with morning coffee or tea at your tent followed by breakfast. After breakfast until lunch you are on the raft enjoying the white water rapids. We have a picnic lunch on a sandy beach along the side of the river. Continue paddling with exhilarating rapids in between to our next camp. During the trip, you will have a time to explore native villages, watch birds and animals, meet people of different ethnic groups and learn about their culture, lifestyles etc. After dusk, campfire is set and evening meal is served. Dance to the traditional Nepali music along with the crew. On clear nights the stars are so bright as if you could reach out your hand and touch them. |
